Hi, I’m Jennifer.

I’m Jennifer Hart, the founder of Inspired Elsewhere, a travel advisor, artist, and writer based in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. I bring a creative perspective to personalized travel planning, helping couples, families, and multigenerational travelers connect with destinations through culture, nature, wellness, food and wine, and the arts.

Inspired Elsewhere grew from the realization that the things I love most have always been connected.

Travel introduces me to new landscapes, cultures, people, and perspectives. Writing gives me a way to explore and share those experiences more deeply. Art allows me to hold onto the feeling of a place long after I have left it.

Inspired Elsewhere is where those worlds meet.

Travel has always been about more than getting somewhere.

I believe the best trips are the ones that feel personal. The hotel you cannot stop talking about. The meal you still remember years later. The view you did not expect. The afternoon that was never supposed to be the highlight of the trip, but somehow became exactly that.

As a travel advisor, I help my clients move beyond simply choosing a destination. Together, we create journeys around how they want to experience a place, whether that means a memorable family vacation, a milestone celebration, a cruise, a wellness escape, an immersive European itinerary, or one of my curated group journeys.

I take care of the research, logistics, recommendations, and details so my clients can spend less time piecing together a vacation and more time looking forward to it.

Creativity is part of how I experience the world.

Long before Inspired Elsewhere had a name, art was part of my life.

I am endlessly drawn to color, atmosphere, texture, architecture, landscapes, and the small visual details that give a place its identity. My studio practice is an extension of that curiosity, turning inspiration gathered from both near and far into original work.

Some pieces begin with a particular place. Others begin with a color, a memory, or simply a feeling I want to hold onto.

The Studio is where I share available original work, new collections, commissions, and the creative process behind them.

And then there are the stories.

Travel has a way of making us notice things.

A conversation with someone we would never have met at home. A tradition we knew nothing about. An unexpected meal. A beautiful hotel. A complicated history. A moment that changes the way we see a destination, or sometimes ourselves.

The Journal is my place to follow those threads.

Through travel stories, destination features, observations, interviews, and creative exploration, I want to share more than lists of where to stay and what to do. I want to tell the stories that make us curious enough to look closer and inspired enough to go somewhere new.

Why Inspired Elsewhere?

Because inspiration rarely arrives exactly where we expect it.

Sometimes it is found halfway around the world. Sometimes it is hanging on the wall of a tiny restaurant, hidden down a side street, painted across an unfamiliar landscape, or discovered during a conversation with someone whose life looks nothing like our own.

And sometimes we bring it home with us.

Inspired Elsewhere is about seeking those moments intentionally, traveling with curiosity, noticing what is around us, and allowing what we discover to shape what comes next.
